Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello,

Im currently in a private program part time slated to complete October 2015. I think I had it all figured out but now a got a delay. Plan was to bridge at a local CC for a 2 semester ASN and BSN completed 1 semester later (side note years ago I was completing my bsn but stop and tons of credits) the school I was looking at has just dropped the LpN to RN bridge as of May 2014. There is 2 others which are extremely competitive and have long waits. Andmy biggest fear is they to will follow suit in a push to have everyone have BSNs. I so disappointed in myself. Its like I feel like I wont have the financial resources or time to go through 2 more programs. In the end I want a BSN. Looks like wait on the lists to get in a ASN at a CC if im competitive enought to get in. Then try for a private online BSN?

Any thoughts?

Is there any way you can commute to a less-competitive nursing program located many miles away from your home? In the area where I live, it is common for students to drive 100+ miles each way to nursing schools with less competitive admissions processes.

Hmm lol I never thought about that. I was so suck on close to home that I didnt think to look outside of my area. I am close to Tampa and Daytona. I will take a look and see what I find. Thanks

I drive a hour and 20 minutes away for this very reason! I don't like how competitive CC are so I drive to a private strictly nursing school!
