Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello Suzanne i have another dilemma. I am in an Lpn-Rn Transition programme right now hoping to get my Rn by next year May 09. I have also gotten admission into an Lpn-Bsn programme starting in Aug this year. My plan was to finish the lpn to rn then do the Rn to Msn which is my goal. i want to be a nurse practisioner am also thinking maybe am waisting an oportunity that doesn't come dat easy by not going to the BSn programme. although for dat programme i will be graduating in 2010! My question is what to do am getting all info from all around and am confused. the rn prog meets my badget though but tough and as you know from my other posts am soo stressed already but i know the BSn progr might be stressful too. Am so scared of having to lose both chances if i make the wrong decision and fail out of one. Please advice. i am still a candidate for both progr but both start full time in Aug so i have to make the decision now!

Also for the MSN programme do i have to wait a year after my rn to go into it or can i just finish the rn in 09 God willing and just dive into it? that was my plan of choosing the lpn-rn track over the lpn to bsn track! if am wrong then maybe things could change. help me decide!

Post moved to its own thread under the LPN to RN forum where it is more appropriate.

Thanks for your understanding.

If you are worried about a budget, then go for the RN and then on for the BSN as you are working.

Either program is going to be quite tough, they are for anyone.

To go into the MSN program, you need only the BSN. But I would focus on getting thru the RN program first and getting that license. Experience also is the best thing to have and makes it much easier for any Advanced Practice programs in the future.

Just take things one day at a time.
