My classmates are off the chain

Nursing Students LPN-RN

For those of you in the lpn/rn bridge programs, do you get along with the other students in the blended classes, or do you get a "us vs. them" vibe? I don't smooze or brownnose, I just come in, do my thing, and leave. And most of these folks....I mean it's like they hate each other, and think that there's only "X" amount of seats available into the next semester and they are trying to backstab everyone to get "their" seat. I just don't understand it.

Wondering if it's just our little dysfunctional bunch, or if this is the norm....

Maybe I was lucky but the RNs I joined were very gracious about including us LPNs. Since I'm older and also worked a lot I didn't really do any socializing with them out of school but again really enjoyed being with that group. Sounds like your classmates are pretty insecure. How sad because last I checked once you are in the program as long as you don't flunk out you are guaranteed a seat next semester, right?

:uhoh3:Wow, I start moblity Spring semester, not looking forward to that type of attitude. I did hear a comment in the ladies room by one of the students wondering if the "new students coming in were going to feel "out of place" but who cares really. I know several of the students that are going from LPN to RN and they are really nice younger kids (I am 50) and they have always been very nice to me. Because I am older like the previous poster, I think I can deal with a few smart-azz remarks, being a mom I can put them in their place (just kidding!) and no we are not taking up any one else's seat, WE EARNED IT! :yeah:
