I am so frustrated right now.

I graduated from Excelsior last November, December passed the NCLEX.

I have my RN license in Indiana, and have moved to Washington because hubby is Navy.

Well, let's just say I am having a difficult time endorsing my license.

It was like pulling teeth to get my previous employer to submit my work hours to WA BON.

Then when they FINALLY did, they submitted too few hours (7 in fact), so that I didn't meet the 1,000 hours necessary to get my license!

I took my final check and figured out my hours based on that, and my employer was off by 40 hours! How could they be off by so much?

I'm just venting here. I have been an LPN for 9 years before getting my RN.

Passing the CPNE (only 2 out of 6 in my cohort passed) was a dream come true.

Finally having my dream come to life has been amazing.

I feel so accomplished to have been able to overcome the CPNE while my husband was gone on active duty. :)

I have uprooted my life to move 2,000 miles away, leaving my parents, house and former job to move due to the NAVY. I feel trapped right now. Without my license I'm unable to work. I just hope and pray the BON accepts my pay-stub as verification and grant me my much deserved license.

Remember to look into the V.A. or federal facilities, as they use ANY state licensure and doesn't have to be the one you are living in. Try pool or part time to just get your foot in the door. Get some WA hours racked up in an acute hospital and then reapply after you have some time to open other doors for you. I am plotting this out as I will be returning to California and they don't accept Excelsior graduates. I figured, I could be happy working at the V.A. I am a veteran too and have worked their mobile resource pool before they discontinued that. However, being a military dependent, you might have a lead into that type of employment? They also employ civilians to work on post/base at the clinics (at least they did in Fort Lewis where I was stationed) BTW....you can contact the labor board for your state and they can pull your hours/income for the last 2 years you worked--as well as proving your time with your tax information. Good luck to you.

My former employer send my hours in to the BON. Unfortunately they claimed that I worked 7 hours too few to get my license. I submitted my last paystub and hope they accept that as proof of hours worked.

Fortunately the BON went by my last paystub to verify hours. My license through endorsement was approved! Yaaay! A big weight has finally been lifted off of my shoulders. Now on with the job hunt. :)

Did they even give out a temporary license? I'm working in Oregon but will need WA soon within 6 months

No temporary. I think being a military spouse caused them to bypass temporary and grant the permanent license. They do grant temporary licenses though.

So happy for you, you deserve it..all the best in your future endeavor.

Congrats! It really pays off to be a good record-keeper so you could produce that pay stub.
