can i get accepted to a nursing program?

ok i have already took anatomy twice didnt do so well family death occurred (dad) :crying2:. I was a wreck. Also took it the third time and got a B+. took all the prequistes execpt for physiology and microbiology. I did well in the other classes got Bs or above.:D anyways should i go for lpn school isabella graham hart and what classes would i have to take if i got most prequistes done already. and if i do a bridge to lpn to rn how long would it take me to become an rn. i am 20yrs old and want to be a rn at 23 at least. this is a promise to myself and my family. plz give advice and should i continue to become a rn.

You did not mention the college or state where you are trying to go to school, what I can tell you is that to apply for Browrad college here in south Florida, you will not nedd micro to apply but yet is a class that you will need to graduate. Physiology is ususally a class combine with Anatomy, so I do not understand :confused: if this is different where you are taking classes. B+ is not bad, I know the perfect thing will be an A but sometimes it is not possible. If you have all the pre-reqs done you should applied for the RN program and see how that goes, and if you want, you can apply for the LPN program at the same time and see which one will accept you. You never know maybe both will give you a chance. Again the info that I can give you is from what I know about my school. In my school the LPN_RN program takes about 14 months. It took me about 1 year to become and LPN and the pre-reqs that I need to apply to the LPN_RN program were A&P I and the lab, A&P II and the lab, Chemestry, and English, in addition I have to have my LPN license and CEU's up to date. Oh srry I'm from Rochester NY and no anatomy and physiology are different classes or but u can take them together... also would you know what class I would taken if I went for lpn school. And there's no way I can get into my community college cause they go by points Monroe community college. That's why I want to bridge from lpn to rn if that helps me get into some college nursing program.

i am waiting to see if i am accepted at isabella graham hart:anbd:. physcology 101 and english 101 must be completed before applying to the school and you have to get at least a 70 on the teasv exam which consists of grueling a& p, chemistry, physics, and math questions. at the interview i asked how many applied and how many get in and she told me 200 applied and 80 get in (30 for part-time and 50 for full ----or maybee the oppostite?).

anyhow, the full-time program takes 10 months and is monday-friday 7:30 am-3 and the part-time is tues & thursdays 4pm-9 and 7:30 am--? on saturdays. saturdays are clinical days.

the part-time program takes 2 years. monroe community college has an agreement with igh for a bridge program lpn---rn and it would take 1 year to complete. additionally, the school has an agreement with nazareth college for their lpn--rn--bsn program and brockport college is deleloping a program for lpn--rn--bsn as well-- but it will not be in effect for a few years as told to me by the igh instructor who interviewed me.

many people who find it difficult to get into the rn programs apply to the lpn program at boces or igh. igh is well respected and many are able to get jobs after graduation or get into an rn program more easily. you have clinicals just like the rn programs.

Hi! Is IGH in the NYC area? Im desperate to get into a LPN program by the fall. Availability is looking slim everywhere I turn, but I'm determined not to give up! I am so afraid that I will have to wait a whole year to get into any type of LPN nursing program. I've been wanting to take this plunge for a really long time and I am just finally getting up the courage to do it. Any suggestions??????????

igh is in the city of rochester (by buffallo). igh is wrapping up their admissions process for the year. as far as advice...i would say to take a cpr class, and take a few classes at your local community college. each school has thier own stipulations. igh requires college english 101 and physcology 101 before applying. also, you would have to register to take the entrance exam (teasv) http://www.atitesting.com/home.aspx. before taking the test you should buy the study guide and practice exams which is available at the website. the test is very hard so be sure to study alot! it consists of chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology, math, and a tiny section on grammer and machanics. hey---i made it to the interview process so if i can do it---you can too. you just have to want it bad enough.

I don't want to sound harsh but in NY the process to get into RN school is really daunting. They scrutinize everything because of the amount of applicants and there standards are really high because of the rate at which people flunk out in the first two semesters. I would recommend doing your LPN first then go on for RN school. I failed the first A&P when I started out due to family issues and I can tell you they made it a major issue even though the second time I got an A. Unfortunately because of the limited slots available and the number of applicants they tend to be really really picky and critique and nit pick everything all the way down to your High School transcripts. I don't mean to discourage I just want to make sure that you have a good insight as to how it all works. If you do the LPN program and work hard and do really well that will help when it comes time to apply for RN school, plus having the advantage of your LPN instructors for reference is always a plus :)
