sorry to hijack your post but I'm taking the entrance this week and I dont know much about this or their testing process and wondering if you can give me a general idea of what to expect? SAT words? Was it mostly fractions? decimals? Can you use a calculator? Thanks for answering

Im a current student now and the program is intense so study study study. I bought my shoes at work n gear you need nursing shoes not sneakers that are white... There is parking for students that is free at the school but at clinical sites you are on your own... All the teachers are pretty good and you know what is expected of you... Not all the clinical instructors are great but you rotate clinical sites so it doesn't matter... The key to success is to not make excuses and just do what you have to do. Everyone either has kids, juggles multiple jobs or lives far away so no one can use those for excuses of why they cannot succeed. They are strict on attendance because it is a clock hour program... I would recommend starting to read the anatomy & physiology book ahead of time because once you understand that everything else gets easier.

Is there a book you can recommend for me to start with. I just finished a Phlebotomy course that touched on A & P a bit, but I don't know if its enough. I might just go to York College in Queens to take an A & P course so I don't feel crazy and out of place when I start. I'm already setting my life up to where if I do work, it will only be Sat & Sun day shift because I work the graveyard shift now. Thanks a lot and please saty in touch. They are still testing????? WOW!!!! I thought the last date was March 26... There's factions, decimals, addition, subtraction, percents, negative-positive questions. It's very easy. There are are 2 different test books. Book 9 has paragraphs reading and I heard Book 10 has Graphs and maps. Pay very close attention to the time on Math though. Let me know how it goes.

I took test and it wasnt so bad.. Also i saw they added another test date for next week.

You don't need to take A&P prior to the program because it isn't necessary. The book they currently use is "The body in health and illness" Barbara Herlihy. First semester you start learning what quadrant each organ is in and medical terminology, you also start math dosages and patient communication. I bought 2 uniforms for class and 2 for clinic. You are allowed to wear navy blue sleeves only under you navy blue class scrubs but for clinic you cannot unless you have tattoos then they allow white long sleeve in clinic. The school is accredited and has a high Nclex pass rate.

Hello future nurses I just took the pre entrance exam on April 28 2015 im just waiting for the results to come in the mail nervous is not even the word to describe me right now but I know I did good but with the math I had to rush about 08 -10 questions the time was short but the reading was fairly easy should I be worried?
