Hello everyone. I'm currently in my last two months in LPN school which this should be an exciting time for me but unfortunately it's not. I'm taking OB, med surge II, peds, and mentally ill all my last semester in school. I'm doing well in all my classes except OB. I don't know what it is I just can't get it. We only have two exams, a few assessments, a presentation, and the final. I have to pass this class to graduate in December. If you guys have any advice any books anything to recommend I'll greatly appreciate. Being a nurse means the world to me.

Specializes in ICU / Urgent Care.
I don't know what it is I just can't get it.

Figure this out and let us know. For the most part it's just like any other nursing class, time dedication and memorization of concepts and facts. Perhaps dedicate more time to OB related material.

Edit: Also try Picmonic, which basically draws out concepts and facts into characters and stories and makes it stupid simple to remember things that otherwise might be a bit elusive. I am not affiliated with this company in any shape or form, but it greatly helped me memorize lots of details that otherwise would be in the dark abyss of my mind. Note: It's not free, however they do have a free trial. I suggest you give it a go. You won't see the real value of it until after you realize how much that information gets stuck in your head. I spend about 5-10 min per pic/story, and literally the information is stuck in my head even months later. This memory trick is called Visualization Association, which is what all the memory masters use to memorize a deck of cards in like 15 seconds, no joke!

Anyway, here's the link: Ace USMLE, COMLEX, NCLEX and MCAT with Picmonic
