Supposed to start classes next term

  1. I am hoping someone on this site can give me some advise. I am supposed to start my LPN classes next term. The program I am planning on using offers a full time 1-year or a part-time 2-year class. Since I have a family to support I am taking the 2 year program. Right now I am working customer service, so I don't think they are going to let me stay here part-time for 2 years while I get an education that doesn't benefit them. I am wondering 1)if anyone knows of an online LPN program that I could take as an alternative or 2)if anyone knows of an online STNA program.
I figure that if I can't stay here it would be better for me to be in the medical field. Problem is that I have checked into every STNA program in my area and they are all during the time I work. I really can't afford to take weeks off working to take classes

If customer service doesn't fit into your career plans and nursing does, I would switch jobs before I switched school programs. Have you looked at hospital jobs? Often you can get tuition assistance from the hospital where you work, even if you don't have a patient care position.

Hmmm...customer service or nursing. I do not think anyone can tell you what is right for you, although information about programs are helpful.

I have worked, and enjoyed both. Alot of the attributes in CS are used in nursing

May I suggest that prior to making a decision , you run down to Blockbuster and get a movie called 'WIT'. It is a HBO movie whose story line originally was a play. It may help you in your decision.

    Best--

Thanks for the movie suggestion...I'll take a look. I got the suggestion to look for hospital jobs from my mom and sister (both LPN's) and I have been looking. They thought it would be better to try for medical/clerical with the experience I have. So it looks like I'm heading in the right direction. Thanks!
