Passing the LPN entry test

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Published

I been in community college for 2 years when I first started my plans was to go to school for the RN Program but then u got afraid of math and science. My first time taken bio/ chemistry I ended up with a D. So I felt bad. So I change my major but then I took the class over and got a B. But still I wasn't convinced that I could make it. Now I finish enough classes to apply for the LPN program and I know my heart is in nursing because I have been a CNA over 15 years but any ways let me get to the point I would like to know is the entry test for the LPN hard and what should I study to prepare myself

Hi Rickell,

I am not sure if it is the same for every school or state but the test I had to take for LPN entrance was called the TEAS-V. It was moderately difficult for me. I studied the study guide that was put out by the company that administers the test called ATI, you can look at their products here: TEAS Test | Test of Essential Academic Skills | ATI . You should check to see if this is the test your school requires. If your school requires another test they may be able to offer you more suggestions on study materials. One thing I will say is that the actual test was a bit easier than the practice tests that came with my study guide. In any event, good luck!!! And if you don't pass do not get discouraged, keep taking it if you can.

I'm right there with you. It wasn't the classes for me it was life. I got married had two more kids. I too have been a can for over 10 yrs. and my time is coming for a change. Now I am studying to take Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam. I failed by 1 point, but not to worry I will redeem myself on the 21st of April. Good Luck.

Good luck to you too

By the grace of God. I took the entrance exam and passed. My advice is go with your first answers and don't change anything. I made the mistake of second guessing myself a lot. I had almost given up. I took that test 3 times and pass it the last time. You got this.

That's great I'm so happy for you...Good luck on the rest of your Journey

For my program the entrance exam was the TEAS-V. People make it out to be more than it is. I took it with only one days notice and no studying whatsoever and still wouldn't call it challenging.
