LPN Program at Rogue Community College

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Published

Hello!

I am interested in becoming a nurse and was wondering if anyone has attended Rogue Community College's LPN program? I would eventually like to get my RN but for now I am pursuing LPN. What was the program like? What GPA do you need to get accepted? Was it as hard to get into as the RN program?

I am currently working as a CNA and am getting through my pre-reqs.

Thank you for the information!! :)

Welcome to AN. You will have better responses if you: A) identify the city or state school is located & post under Students & locate the School/Programs. or Try under U.S. then locate the state. Thank you so much! I put this in the right place :)

I'm currently a student in Rogue's LPN program. The 2nd term just started and we will finish in September. I'm enjoying the program and the instructors are great. I believe there were approximately 65 applicants for 16 positions. The application process is less competitive but the program is intense. Our instructors have emphasized that we are being taught 85% of what the RN students are being taught. However, they have 2 years and we have 9 months. Last term we had a test every 7-10 days. This term we have an exam every 2 weeks.

85%, huh? Curious.

The LPNs that bridged into the RN program with us last semester have to take 15 of the 19 total courses in the RN program, or 78% of the RN classes. Seems like that would suggest the PN program contains roughly 22% of the RN program...
