Hi There,

Originally I was going to take the NET exam to get into this LPN program that only costs $3500 for the whole program. I heard a lot of stories about how hard it is to get into that particular school. 4 tests in one year..and only 40 people picked from all the tests combined. A co-worker of mine told me of this private tech school that still has 4-5 seats open for classes that start next month. She gave me a contact number and I spoke with someone about taking the test. She said I can take the practice test monday. The girl from work, said they usually have you take the exam that day if you are comfortable with it. You have one chance to pass or fail. No retakes. My coworker, Heather, gave me an idea of what was on the test. She said early algebra, fractions, and decimals were on the test, along with reading comprehension. I haven't been to school in 12 years. (I'm 31)

I just called about this test on Friday, so you can imagine how unprepared I am. Luckily I have the next few nights off of work, so it gives me time to study. I've been studying the math part online to refresh my memory. I was thinking of going to the library tomorrow and seeing if there was any LPN pre-test books to help me cram for the next couple of days. I have tried looking free online for LPN program entrance exams, to no avail. Heather told me she found reading comprehension to be the hardest part of the test, because it has lots of trick questions. Now that part is making me nervous. Also the interview I am scared of too. She only said they will ask why I want to be an LPN and why I want to give up being a CNA to do so. I have a million reasons for both those questions in my head, but I am worried I will get nervous and make an orifice out of myself.

Please any advice on the interview and test would be greatly appreciated. I am afraid all my reasons for wanting to become an LPN won't be good enough for them. Thanks in advance. :imbar

Here is the site that I used to practice my NET with. I helped wonders! I had to take the test 2 times. The first time, I didn't get a chance to study because I had to take it the same day as I took my TABE test. The second time I had 2 weeks to study so I passed.

I was hoping that site wasn't too accurate. Damn.

Now I'm gonna have to hit the books hard. I can do arithmetic to save my life...but algebra, not so much once you get beyond basic alg. That's okay, I know I will do fine.

hey i just took the LPN test in BCIT and flunked it... the reading and language was the most difficult part. Math was easy. I have to retake the test on the 24th of sept. take it easy and you can never study too much..
