Let the Excitment Begin

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Next Thursday is my first day of nursing school. I have had my backpack packed since I got accepted and my boyfriend even made me a study room! The closer it gets the more nervous I get over stupid stuff (which at the moment include various smells and the ever present fear of catheters) and scared over the big stuff, like working as a full time waitress while I goto school full time.Through it all, I have never lost my faith that I can do this no matter how difficult it will be! So here we go... BRING IT NURSING SCHOOL

How was your first day?

Awesome! I know how excited you are. I am myself. You sound very determined so I have no doubts you will do great. So sweet of your boyfriend to make a study room for you. I'm sure you'll be making good use of that for a long while.

Specializes in Cardiac.

Your excitement is contagious. I start next month and the closer I get the more nervous I get. Reading your post put me back on excitement level :). I have already purchased a nursing student bumper sticker for my car and tomorrow I'm ordering a cute tote bag for clinicals and/or class. I can't wait until I can get my books so I can pack my bookbag, too.

Love that you already have a bumper sticker! I am right there with you on packing my bag. I can't wait to get my books (maybe I'll be taking those words back later).

I wish I had the confidence that you all have, I start in August and I am worried about everything! I do not have a full time job but I do have three small children, twins that are 6 and my baby just turned 5, I am worried that it will be too much with them and school! Any advise would be great to hear right now! Thank you very much for listening to me!

I just started on Monday. This weekend is my reality check due to the large amount of studying that I have to do. But I am very excited and so far class has been amazing. I have already learned so much and i've only been in nursing school a week! I am also working full time and going to school, so it is definitely doable as long as you stay focused. I can't wait to hear how your first days went!

I have one he is four. It really has been a long year for him. I work in the mornings and school in the evening. I spend every morning with him and try my best to put him to bed at night. It will be hard but always remember you are doing this not only for yourself but for your children as well. That's what has helped me get through the past year! I will be done in two weeks! Once you start you will figure out a routine and learn how to manage your time with your babies!

Best of luck to you all! It's worth it!
