I did it, but now what do I do?

Hello all you lovely and handsome nurses out there!!!! You can not believe how happy I am right now!I just found out that I got into a hospital nursing program!!!!:yeah:I'm so happy that I could dance, in which case I have on more than one occasion already today. :clpty::dancgrp:

I am still in disbelief that I am in because I was just a mere alternate last friday. I do not want to completely count my chickens because I have not paid my tuition yet and I have not even sent out any scholarship letters.There is no finaid, and if I don't get any scholarships I would have to pay out of pocket. Also these classes would not transfer to a university or community college if I were to(God forbid) flunk out. I have the money to pay upfront but if I use it instead of saving it for things like gas, food, and the unexpected as well as stop working while in school this will severely hurt.:crying2:

My problem is that I signed up for another program at a community college. At the college I could get finaid and sholarships to help me through it. I'm slated to take the entrance test this Wednesday and I don't know if I should go through with it or just leave it be.:confused: Everything seems in the clear for the program I'm already accepted to but one slip up could screw my chances.

I have studied this site vigorously and I have read your stories. I am afraid and I know that the next year of my life will be this:banghead:, and this:argue::bluecry1::selfbonk::smackingf hopefully leading to this:nurse:. I do want this and any input or advice that you have would really help. Thank you much!!!

That sucks the classes wouldn't transfer to a community college or university. And it really sucks there is no financial aid. I just started at a private school, but there is financial aid. I don't know. If I were you, I'd maybe shoot for the community college program if there's no waiting list, and you've done all the required pre-requisites.

Thank you for the advice. I just mailed off the letter confirming my acceptance into the hospital program. I did take the Hesi two days ago and I got an 83. Maybe I could get into the college program and make a delayed decline to the hospital.

I would take the community college course since it includes financial aid. You DO NOT need any added stress of wondering how you are going to pay for something when you do not have it. The LVN/LPN program is intense and stressful enough. Do not borrow any additional stress on yourself that is not needed. That is just my advice from someone who is going through an LVN program at a community college and completely stressed out with all the HW and studying required.
