Good schools in Los Angeles area? Pricing info?

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Published

Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum today!

I am planning to enroll into LVN program, and I am wondering if anyone has an advice about the schools in LA area?

Also, since looks like I will be getting into financial aid, does anyone know what grants are available to adult students?

Thankfully,

DB

hey DB, looks like there are 3 of us here from SBB!

there are a boatload of schools in the LA area. whether you go public or private depends on how much time (and money) you have. if you haven't already, go to the BVNPT and check on accredited programs statewide. also check on the forum in the CA section of this board for information for some of the lower cost schools in LA.

I start school on jan 4th!

Hey Plaza Make that 4!

Thanks for the info.

Thanks P!

I am casting as many nets to get as much info possible...

I completed the LVN program at Casa Loma College's Van Nuys campus in 2005. The tuition was very expensive (almost $20,000), but the convenience of being able to start immediately with no prerequisites, lotteries, or waiting lists was worth it to me. The convenience of being able to finish the program in 12 months was also very much worth it to me.

that is a very good response. my sense is, that as an adult student, i would like to get in and out of the program without waiting and taking prereqs.

thanks so much. i will look into the casa loma college as well.

xoxo
