Challenging LPN Exam

  1. Hello all,

I live in NJ and recently withdrew from my RN program. Out of the five nursing classes I successfully made it to the third class not finishing my last two semesters. I try to go back but my school has no room so I keep getting denied due to lack of seats. My question, is it possible to take the LPN challenge exam now or do I need more classes to do so? I also heard of some people testing out in NY( which is not far from me) which I would be willing to do. I was just wondering where would I find information regarding testing out for LPN?

    Thank You!

I've heard they no longer allow RN students to take the Nclex-pn after the 1st year.

In NY, NJ and PA one is only eligible to take the NCLEX -PN after graduating from a program of practical nursing. A portion of a professional nursing (RN) program is not considered equivalent as per board of nursing This also applies to license by endorsement. In these states there is no way to 'challenge' the NCLEX-PN like there is in CA.
