:) :D Has anyone here applied to Mcfatter tech LPN program for April 2010? If so, did you get a call or an e-mail saying you were in the class? :confused:Also, if you are/were a mcfatter lpn student can you please give me some advice about the program from a student point of view?

Hey Im interested in that school or its partner school, can you please explain your experience with them prior to acceptance.... like admin process & how hard or easy it was, as well as how long. Please! I would really appreciate it. Thank you : )

First off Congrats on starting the program in April ! :lol2: I am currently going into Term 4 at Mcfatter tech LPN program. Are you starting the evening or Morning class? I am currently in the evenings from 2pm to 10pm and at first I was like will I be able to handle it but the time flies and before you know it your graduating. I love it and as long as your in class and read your material you will do just find. I have heard that the program is changing as far as the way they do the terms. Right now it's a total of 5 terms each lasting 9 weeks. I hear now it will be 18weeks or something like that. They work with you and you can get all the help you need- they are very supportive and they want to see you succeed this is from a Evening Student's point of view- let me know if you need any other advice.:nurse:

Finally, some people responded to my page lol

Since I started this forum, i did not get into April class BUT i should be in the June class, hopefully b/c of the wait list that pushed me back for April:banghead: So I am hoping I get into the Mcfatter's LPN morning session in June. I have all my stuff in that they need so now im just waiting:rolleyes::yawn:.

the admissions was easy, i guess b/c i received my a.a degree in nursing from broward college(aka bc) but i was not able to get into their nursing program so i decided to take this route becoming an lpn then going to bc to get my rn lincense. since i have my a.a degree i was exempt from the tabe test so i just had to take the teas which was general math, reading comprehension, grammer, and science. but before i could do anything i went to orientation and turned in all the necessary forms.

Thanks love! Well i wish you all the best.

Hello Everyone!

I graduated from Mcfatter tech in Oct 2009. When I applied, there was no wait. Everything was kind of simple, in fact. I didn't get an "acceptance letter" per say (that I remember!). The program is a kind of vigorous program. Be prepared in the second semester. Things get tough there; you start to learn about assessments, nursing diagnosis, pharmacology, etc. It was the hardest semester for me. After the second semester, it's all about diseases and such (by systems, i.e digestive, lymphatic), diagnosis of the disease, treatments, interventions, medications, etc. Just take it one at a time. The best thing (for me) was to get a piece of paper, write the disease, what it's characteristics where, diagnosis used, how to treat, medications and interventions. Writing it down helps you to remember (even though you may not think so). It's a good program that gets you prepared for the state boards ( I passed the first time, and so did all my classmates). I am now in the miami dade lpn-rn program. Best of luck to all! Any McFatter students: if you have questions or want advice contact me.

hey everyone! to students are beginning or have begun Mcfatter I have a few questions..I saw that one of the requirements is a Core class...I took a course at Broward college titled HCP health science core..I was wondering if anyone knows if this is equivalent to the "core" class Mcfatters asks for..also what was your application process like? did you know right away what class you would start in? or were you pushed back? I went today and they told me that the January and April term had "limited" availability...they also told me it would probably be easier to get into the June class...unfortunately i was hoping to start the January program..any advice or tips for this application process?

I believe that if you took the BCC version of it, you don't have to take it at McFatter (but double-check on that). If they told you that there was limited availibility, then that means spots are filling up fast. When you start doing everything there, it's not like "sorry, you're not accepted". To be honest, they pretty much accept everyone unless you didn't score what you needed to on the test (which is nothing to worry about, believe me!). If you want to get in for January, I would go there a.s.a.p. and start moving on things. Maybe even speak to the person in charge of the program, to see if she will let you in for January. What happens a lot there is they go over their "max" because a lot of people fail out the first semester because of anatomy (we had 7-8 ppl drop out/fail). Good Luck! :)

wow thanks so much for the info! I'm actually scheduled to take the TABE exam next thursday...just by looking at their "study" guide I can tell its not going to be that difficult..I already have the TEAS exam done so at this point I just need to take the TABE..and get the ball rolling on my application.

hi everyone. i just went & paid for my term 1 classes at mcfatter (PN). i'm nervous & excited at the same time. they changed the program from 5 semesters (9 wks) to 3 (18 wks). i will NOT be able to be there a lot over the summer (i have kids), so i'll cross that bridge when i get to it.

is anyone else here starting F/T days Nov. 1st? also, can anyone refer me to a site that sells used books? the books & uniform are $300!!!

nice site. i hope to come here often. :)
