Any recommendations on LVN schools?

Hi TheCloser, I graduated from Baldy View ROP LVN program in Ontario CA. The school has a high NCLEX pass rate, they except 30 people to the class that runs for 16months. The cost is only $3,ooo, not $22,000 like other schools. I just took my NCLEX got the min # on the test and passed. The school really prepares you for the boards. Good Luck to you. It is worth the drive. The last class started in May.

Are all LVN courses 16 months?

I'm not sure. I have heard there are some programs that run for 12 months but they have not breaks. The 16 months goes quick.

I am also looking for a good school to attend to get an LVN . I live in Sunnyvale Ca. Can anyone give me any advice? I just passed all of the required entrance tests at Unitek College, then I was told I needed $3,000. to hold a seat for the Jan class plus $ 33,000. for the 13 month course. I sure hope somebody out there has something better to tell me.

I attended Casa Loma College's 12-month LVN program at their Van Nuys campus in 2005. It is a very pricey trade school that has been in existence since 1966.

That is one school that i am interested in going to. Would you mind telling me a little more about that college?

1. Back when I attended, they offered a full-time day program and a part-time evening/weekend program. The evening program was slightly more expensive than the day program, simply because people could keep their jobs while going to school.

2. The day program cost $20,000 when I first enrolled in 2004. I have heard that they increased the tuition in recent years.

3. The program was okay in quality. You'll get out of it whatever it is that you decide to put into it. Most people are able to pass their state boards.

I'd recommend the most affordable LVN program you can find, since they all will eventually lead to the exact same LVN licensure. However, it is not a bad program if you want to avoid waiting lists and prerequisite classes.

Yeah Marian college said there is not waiting list. I scheduled my entrance exam for friday. So you think its a good school?

Just thougth I'd let you know the program I was in was 11 months of Hell, but worth it now. A lot to learn in such a short amount of time.
