Advice On LPN school

Im very stressed about what LPN school I should register in to, Its a LPN school starting early march 2014 but the school is 33 miles away I was going to be able to work at home if I do start march ! How ever its a free tution LPN program starting June 2014 about 5 miles from my home I dont know if I should wait until June or just start march to get it done and over with any suggestions ? Im 19 years old customer service rep and a mother !

OK, this really boils down to your personal priorities and circumstances that aren't stated in the posting.

If I'm understanding you correctly, the issue is whether to attend a program that is 33 miles away, or wait three months to attend a free program that is practically in your backyard.

Why would you be able to work from home if you attended the March program, but not the June program? Either way, working full time while in nursing school is not something you should do unless it's absolutely financially necessary.

Are you a single mom totally on your own, or do you have financial/family support?

If you can swing it, the free tuition program located close to home sounds like a good idea. You're 19 years old -- or young, actually! -- so waiting three months in exchange for not paying tuition/going into debt makes sense for the long run. Three months is nothing when you look at the bigger picture.

Are the two programs fairly equal? Does one program offer educational/advancement benefits that the other doesn't? Would your schedule be about the same for either program? Are the clinical sites for the closer program also located close to your home?

All thing being equal, free tuition and a short drive time are worth waiting three months for.

What are your own thoughts on this?

Thank you for replying I have huge family support with my daughter but not finacially I dont have that much motivation but I know I can do it if I put my mind to it, how ever I do support my self with the help of my fiance I think Im just in a rush to become a lpn I want to start the program in March I can still work from home but If I was going to wait way until June I was going to get my cna which starts Feb-Apr. I really wanted advice from other NURSES to get good feedback. The program that starts in march you have to take out student loans and its 33 miles away :nailbiting: both of the schools have most of the same clinical locations They have the same hours. I just want to go in the right direction

Why take out loans and go 33 miles away when you can wait a short 3 months, be closer to home and basically debt free?

For me, my decision to start school now rather than later is that i'm always putting it off! I'm 31 if that helps you. You really should make a list of pros and cons. Personally, if I could do the 33 miles away class and it was free I would. I'm at that point in my life where I just have to sieze the day and DO IT! Good luck with your choices! I'm starting on Jan. 6th. :)
