New Grad LPN-Extra Skills Useful?

Just curious, would it be of any benefit to get my ACLS, PALS, IV Cert. and so on as a new grad LPN? I'm still in school for RN and graduate in December, but I'm working as an LPN now, searching for a new/additional job and wonder if the expense of the classes are really worth it.
Thanks!

Seems like you're going to have your hands full finishing school and studying for NCLEX.

Why not indicate on your future resume that you are eager to pursue any advanced training your employer would find beneficial and concentrate on the tasks at hand right now.

After you pass boards and find a job, you'll probably be able to have your employer provide/pay for the additional certifications you desire. And you'll know better then which courses will actually be useful. PALS won't help you much on an adult med/surg floor.

I wish you well.

Melly,
It greatly depends on where you want to practice after you pass your boards. If you intend to go for a hospital, then by all means get your IV
Certification as soon as you can.

I had my IV cert class set up even before I took my NCLEX, knowing that I wanted to go into a hospital, and that they would not even look at me if I didn't have it.

As far as the others you mentioned, it never hurts to learn, so I say go for it if you have the time and money, I sure do.

Peace Out,
Dan
