Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

its ok i got them fowarded from someone else! hopefully now ill be receiving them. for some reason they didnt put me down on the email list as a sophomore I. but hopefully ill be good now. how often do u get them so i can look out for them?

You'll start getting about 15 a day in no time ;)

OH THANK GOD FINALS ARE OVER passed micro with a B retook psyc to get my A! hope everyone else did great

yea i got a B in micro too and it was hell!!!! so glad its ovverrrr! now i cant wait til next week for advising!! :)

For those who will be taking physiology next semester at LSUHSC, you might consider the study guide, "Physiology: Board Review Series". It is about $40 bucks new but if you find yourself in trouble in the class, many of the students who have already taken the course will recommend it to you.

where can we get that book at? barnes and nobles or the lsu bookstore? and thanks for the info!!! howd u feel about the class?

I got it at the LSU bookstore. I'm sure you can find it online, if you want to compare prices I paid right at $40 + tax for it.

I'll give you one line of advice about physiology: work hard, study harder, and don't give up on it even if you think you're failing (and you will think you're failing at some point) - see it through to the end of the semester. It sounds unhelpful but the only way I can describe the class is to tell you to wait until you take your first test. You'll then see what I mean about not being able to describe the class to you. :smokin:

Remember, do not throw in the towel! See it to the end no matter what.

yea i have the physiology book already and im going to read as many chapters as i can before school starts to prepare myself. Did any of yall take abnormal psyc there? cuz i have to take it and i wanna kno how much the book is. i kno is selling it for $40 but i wanna know if thats a reasonable price. and how was the class? and do we have to buy the anatomy book? if so how much did u pay for it?

IMO, you can do without the hardbound Anatomy book but I strongly recommend the workbook (softbound). In fact, I would say it is a must have. As for the ab psych, yes, you will NEED the book. You can do with the 6th edition if you can get the 17th chapter from the 7th edition from someone else. The instructor will test on all the info, whether or not it is covered in the class. The changes between the 6th and 7th are few enough that it shouldn't be a problem until Ch17.

ok so i think at the bookstore the anatomy book comes with a workbook for a total of like $130. and yea ill jus buy the book from someone (abn psyc) and i can always like u say jus make copies of someone elses chp 17 that way ill have em. what do u recommend as in studying while im on break? should i continue to read chapters from the phys book?
