LSU BSN

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

I got into Charity and had to go through the paces with them while I was waiting to hear from LSU, and I had to do all that stuff on my own time and with my own money so I'm assuming the case is the same with LSU but who knows...

LSU will set up times for you to get everything done. You'll get emails and such detailing how to get your background check done, where to buy your , etc. They'll pretty much walk you through the entire process. It was all done a few weeks into the first semester when I started. Charity has to hurry because they actually have clinicals their first semester. There's more time to get the State Board clearance stuff done at LSU because you have no clinicals until your second semester.

anyone applying for the fall 2012 bsn program?? i plan to apply soon... starting to get anxiety about it already. just seeing if someone else is in the same boat!

I am! I'm so nervous, I already sent my application packet about 2 months early, I couldn't help it. Just praying I get in on the first try!

YAAAYYY!!! I have company! :clown: Let's keep each other posted on the progress. I actually haven't applied yet, but will do in about 2 weeks. I'm just waiting to finish up this last class.

Charity tends to throw you to the wolves for a lot of that stuff... one of the many reasons i'm so glad i'm going to LSU :)

@lsubound & lsutigermmm, I got in on my first try so it can definitely be done! My GPA is a 3.6 for their courses and a 3.0 overall, I got a 94.23 on the HESI, and I thought my goal paper rocked it, but I was very unsure about how I did on the interview. At the informational session, they told us they consider GPA most important, then the interview, then the paper, then the HESI. Hope that helps you feel a little better about the process!

and re: transcripts/provisional acceptance, I asked the lady in the office, she says we only need to bring what they didn't have when they evaluated our files (in other words, if you'll have any new coursework finished before you start in January). So if you're not in school right now, nothing to worry about :)

Perkinsflower you did awesome on your hesi, I'm glad it doesn't count as much compared to all the other things because I got a 77 im just hoping my 3.5 gpa, goal paper and interview are good enough. I do have all my prereqs finished this semester and I'm taking statistics in the spring so I'm hoping that helps out my chances alot.

But question, all of yall who just got accepted into the spring semester what schools are y'all coming from? I took the majority of my classes at Delgado, but I transferred to UNO because I couldn't stand delghetto anymore! :)

I came from LSU in Br!

Thanks for sharing that info perkinsflower! :specs: My GPA is about a 3.0 or 3.1 so I'm a little worried about THAT , but I did ok on the Hesi (85.43). I plan to have an AWESOME paper and interview.. so wish me luck! ;)

Oh, not sure how "true" it is, but I heard that applicants from LSU in BR get first preference... and I'm not coming from LSU. :anbd:
