Wow good for u!! I was going around introducing myself also but it never helped me. However I never thought about recommendations. Kudos to u About the physical.....I did mine today. It was just giving blood and urine oh and TB testing. Keep me posted on ur new position and I will certainly do the same!

Hi, nolamomx2. Mind if I ask about the physical? In another post (not related to Ochsner), someone said she was tested for ability to lift & carry 50 pounds. Was there anything like that?

Blood tests - what are they looking for?

Urine tests - is that for drug testing?

TB testing - is that the double screening (2 consecutive sticks)?

Thanks for any info you can give!

Hey Bee!! No I was never asked to demonstrate anything. The bloodwork is for: Rubeola, Rubella, Mumps, Varicella, and Hep B titers. The urine is for drugs and yes u hv to take 2 TB tests. The 1st must be read before u begin orientation and the 2nd is 2wks later. Let me know if u need anything else .

Are they gonna do a full health history or is it literally just taking blood & urine.

Also, for your background check, did they have you fill out anything about your education? Mine only wanted my work history so I thought it was odd not to ask about education.

Hey Su!! No the only things I had to do for the health screening is what I wrote in my post to Bee. I did hv to fill out some papers that asked about my health history but that was for workmans comp. The background ck only asked for my employment history and references. However after I finished with my health screening then I had to go and meet with the nursing recruiter. I had to give her all of my "proofs" (license, cpr, id, etc). Keep cking ur email Im sure they will give u a list of things to bring.

I still haven't gotten an email about where to go for my physical or what to bring on Friday so I emailed the recruiter last night. I really don't think she likes me. I also just got 2 more assessments from her "for the position I applied for" even though I've already been offered the job and I'm pretty sure I took theses assessments when I interviewed the first time around for a different nurse tech position. It was with the same recruiter that I'm currently working with, only I did not get a second interview.

Hey Su!! Just roll with the BS. If they dont email u today then I would def call tommr (and all day tommr until I speak with someone). Not sure whats going on. I received all the info when she called me with an offer. Then she emailed me with the same info as soon as we hung up. As for those damn surveys they mk u do them for each position u apply for :uhoh3: . Now that Im thinking about it, u should call her today. She's had enough time to read ur email and u need time to get all the things she ask for.

I did email her on Wed & got a response about the physical with an itinerary with a different time than we discussed so I emailed her back to clarify once again. Anyway, I'm finished with the physical so next is orientation next Mon & Tues. When is your orienation?

That's awesome. You must be relieved. I have a tech interview at Oschner this Friday. Wish me luck.

Do you mind telling me what kind of questions they asked? I have an interview for a CNA job at Oschner, and I haven't had an interview in ages. I'm really nervous because I've sent out tons and tons of applications and this is the first call I've gotten!
