I'm trying to get into JCCC RN program for fall 2012. I will complete my CNA cert in December. Can you let me know how it is getting into their program? I live in Jo CO so I know I can get 15 additional points for being KS and JO Co resident. My science reasoning on my ACT was 23; granted I took this in 98 when I was a sophomore in H.S. Should I re-take it to get a higher score? My overall ACT was 21, my college gpa was 3.5. I take chem and bio in under grad; received an A in chem and B in biology; both had labs. However, since I took them in 2001, I have to re-take, which is okay. I'm enroll in Chem 122 for this spring. I really want to get into this program. Can someone please let me know how difficult it is to get in the program and what I should be expecting? Thanks

Did you get everything done and apply? I have applied and am waiting to hear back. I'm sure that, by now, you know how tough it is to get in at JCCC.
I think I've got a pretty good chance, but of course, I'm still really nervous. I have a 4.0, am in the Honors program and have a science of 27 and an overall of 29, plus am a JoCo resident. But, you just never know.

I postpone applying due to going full time at my job. I received by CNA last month. I'm taking Chem right now. I probably will apply in the Fall or next January for the Fall 2013 yr. By then I will have completed the sciences requirments. Plus, I'm trying to save some money to pay for the program. Being that I already have a Masters, I'm not eligible for student loans. Anyways, good luck with getting in. I heard it was hard but that's not going to discourage me from applying. My friend, who is an NP, used to teach there. She told me it's really hard to get in. But she encouraged me to get my LPN and then get my RN. Either, way, it's going to take 2 yrs. At least if I get an LPN, I can work as a nurse while getting my RN. Plus, there are more scholarships out there for LPN to RN that I could apply for. Plus I have my masters in social work, so with a LPN degree, I can go do administrator work, which is my area of focus or I could do UR or UM at a hospital and make decent money. Anyways, let me know if you get in.
