    I just graduated this May with my BSN and just recieved my Illinois nursing license but have been having trouble finding a job and since I am able to easily move I thought I could apply to other states like Iowa and Wisconsin and get my endorsement for either state.

    I appied for the fall cohort nurse residency program at the Univeristy of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in June and also interviewed there about 2 weeks ago but haven't heard anything yet.

    It seems like a very big hospital to me and I don't know much about it so if anyone has any information they would like to share would be good?

    I was wondering if anyone else on this site has applied to the fall nurse residency program this year or in past years? Does anyone know when the program actually starts if hired there? or have an idea when or if they call how long that will be after you interview?

    I have the information/packet to apply for endorcement to Iowa but don't know if I should wait until I actually find out if I get hired in somewhere in Iowa first but also don't want to finally get hired somewhere and then run the risk of not having my license for the state.

    I really don't know anything about the program. I just got a call a little over a month ago to interview with them. I did the interview without being given many details about the program. I have basically been waiting now with it being just over a month since the interview. I sent an email a week or so ago asking the status of my application and they said i am still being considered for one of the units.
    Did you graduate and already take your boards? Sorry I can't give you any information on the program. You will have to let me know if you hear anything from them to interview or any news about the program.

    I also did try to ask about when an approximate start date would be but all they could say was that they have many cohorts and it depends on which one your in. So that really didn't give me the answer I was looking for. I'm really hoping I hear something soon either way.

    Gbfan12- did you ever hear anything back? I was just contacted for an interview. I was told that they are contacting candidates next week to offer positions because the start date is Oct 8th for the last fall cohort. I'm not sure of any other details.

    I never did hear anything back. My status online still says requisition open. I found a job elsewhere but I had heard that there hiring process is very long. Good luck for your interview. What unit us it for?
