UK nurse moving to Florida

 Hello everybody!

I'm currently a third year student in the UK due to qualify very shortly! I have received a job offer on NICU however, I am an adult nurse and will be an RGN when qualified.

My fiancée's family are currently residing in Florida ATM and we were hoping to move there around September 2018 which would give us plenty of time to save and search around for houses ect. I have only just recently started looking into the process and was hoping if anybody could be extremely helpful by answering my following questions:

As an RGN will I need to apply for an EB3 visa?

How long is it currently taking for people to make the move?

I undersdtand that I will need so many clinical hours in certain areas such as maternity, paeds, mental health etc - I was hoping somebody could tell me the amount of hours I need in each area?

Can you take the NCLEX in the UK?

What is the general process of moving to the UK? What should be my first move? Is there anybody I can contact about this?

I understand I can do this by myself but I was wondering if anybody knew of any legitimate agencies that have good reviews?

What clinical area are nurses most likely to be placed in?

What are the wages in Florida? (I have researched this but cannot find a definitive answer?)

Thank you so much! :)

As a Adult trained nurse unless you have both clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult you will not meet state requirements. Look at approx 75-100 hours in each area for clinical and theory.

You do not apply for EB3 you need a employer to do that.

Once you have met state requirements and passed NCLEX you then look for a employer and only once your employer has applied for EB3 and it is approved will that give you an idea on moving times. Best thing to do is keep an eye on EB3 visa processing dates on the current US visa bulletin. Also EB is based on where you was born and if not born in Philippines, India, Mexico, China or EL SALVADOR GUATEMALA HONDURAS then you look in the other column. The dates will go up and down

Yes you can sit NCLEX in London but only after the state has given permission.

Moved to the International Nursing forum but you may also want to check out the Advice on Immigration forum and Nurse Registration forum which are both aimed at helping nurses who wish to move to another country.
