Hi,
I was just wondering if there is anyone that has taken their bachelor's through UBC, in particular by correspondance. I live in Montreal, and a nurse at work was telling me it was, in his opinion the best place to do the bach. through correspondance. (He has looked into more than I have).
I was just wondering if anyone has any advice.
Thanks,
Michelle

I didn't do it through UBC, but I have been told it is actually a bad program. I think "touchy feely" were the exact words used. UVIC has a touchy feely type too, but I have been told that Mount Royal has the best nursing programs. I looked into doing their perinatal courses but just went to the States where they trained me. Their website is http://www.mtroyal.ab.ca

I too heard that UBC had a strong Critical Care Bach. not much more though.
I did go to Mount Royal (distance ed for all but the practicum) for their Advanced Critical Care -Emergency Lvl one and what a treat. It was awsome. Excellent material and phone prof's. Very clearly layed out and they really worked with your schedule (to an extent) as far as deadlines. I'll be going back there after a couple more years experience.

Well, one of my instructors went to UBC for her Master's, and she loved the school. There is a bigger focus on qualitative research at UBC than other universities, which is probably where the "touchy feely" reputation came from. But I have heard good things from other people about that university too, just not the correspondence aspect of it.
