Just to say Hello

Hi! I'm an Ontario RPN with over 25 yrs experience in med/surg. I've always been very content in our little local hospital BUT we've been 'allianced' and now it's terrible there. We now draw from a huge pool for full-time jobs. Even with all my years (including 2 1/2 temp FT) I didn't get the last one. I just think it's time to check and see what the world is like out there. My kids are pretty much grown and well .... who knows .....

I'm used to working in the US and fairly recently moved back to Canada. I am FT perm in the ICU. For the life of me, I can't figure out the politics. It seems like there is a constant struggle for full time positions, overtime, seniority, etc, etc, etc. Geez, it's exhausting. I'm definitely weighing my options, and have a partial plan in place. I was hoping SK was the only province with this problem, but apparently not. Is there anywhere in Canada where we can just go and work without all of this other crap?

I feel your frustration.

Sorry for ranting...
