How To Get Fingerprint Cards

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to apply for licensure in New Mexico while still in the Philippines and I have questions regarding the fingerprint cards. From instructions at the NM BON website, I emailed the Board to send me the cards. My questions now are:

1. Does the NM BON send a kind of acknowledgment or an email reply that they received the request?
2. Does anyone have an experience on how long those cards usually arrive in the Philippines via regular mail?
3. Will they accept cards other than those issued by the NM BON? (FBI cards for instance).
4. Is it possible to get FBI cards here in the Philippines?
5. Will they accept fingerprinting done by our local National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)?

Thanks in advance.
Kathy

Hi there! :groupwelcome:

Answers:
1. Usually, no. But, they know about it. They check their emails.
2. wait for 10 to 15 working days. sometimes, sooner than you thought. it will come. in the meantime, prepare to have your school send your nursing TOR and prepare also your bank draft for the fingerprint check fee to NM DPS (PNB branches can issue for foreign exam purpose even to non-depositors of PNB and will accept payment in pesos unlike most other banks).
3. No. Each state BON's cards have specific marks referring to the source of the cards.
4. No. Not all FBI cards are to be used for nursing licensure purpose.
5. Yes, but only on the cards supplied by NM BON.

look for that thread here with several pages about questions on NM licensure. you'll get a lot of info from reading that. and you can ask further questions from there.

goodluck!

Thanks Kiko for the clear answers.
(My husband has a brother also named Kiko and he's as kind, helpful and as straightforward as you are).

Kiko:
Are you saying that NM-BON will ONLY accept cards that originate from NM-BON? I've gotten hold of a set of cards that don't have any markings on the "ORI" field and I'm using them for my application. Per NM-BON's site-faq, we just leave this space blank. Do you agree?
