Hi all,

I need help!

I just graduated with a degree in Biology and i decided to have a career change to nursing (alt degree program.) i would like to work in england but b4 i embark on the nursing part, i would like to ask some questions

how is the nursing demand in the uk?

how is the pay compared to canada, australia etc.

how is the immigration process? is it complicated? how long?

do i have to take an exam if i graduated in the US?

is the move worth it?

thanks !

Hello xtie

I just graduated with a degree in Biology
Congratulations!!

That depends where you are - see other threads here for more info https://allnurses.com/forums/f124/job-market-uk-really-bad-129141.html

how is the pay compared to canada, australia etc.
The pay scales for jobs can be found here http://www.rcn.org.uk/agendaforchange/payconditions/pay/pay2005.php

You should know that a newly qualified nurse will probably start out on a band 5, but more experienced jobs are at a higher scale

how is the immigration process? is it complicated? how long?
https://allnurses.com/forums/f124/uk-nursing-european-resources-47356.html and http://www.nmc-uk.org/(2tzfwqnna3lzi1btuv4jq3jx)/aSection.aspx?SectionID=17

do i have to take an exam if i graduated in the US?
Again see here https://allnurses.com/forums/f124/uk-nursing-european-resources-47356.html

is the move worth it?
Probably onlu you could answer that - it would depend on why you are moving here... but you will need prior experience to come here...
