hi everyone,

i just registered today but i have visited frequently in the past and read all of your postings. i am a new grad who wrote my crne yesterday. i felt like blah after writing the 8 hour exam. is it just me or is ther any of you out there who felt that way. it is not that i did not study or anything. i felt that it is one of those exams you don't know until you get your result. now, i have to wait two months...and it sucks. who felt this way? i felt like that crne book was a waste and there was not any books out there that was helpful in preparing for the exam. mosby is too detailed for the crne exam. i am so scared about getting my result.

It's more like 3 months. :angryfire There is no good reason for such a delay.

how Did You Guys Feel About The Exam? What Is The Passing Mark? I Know It Is Based On A Bell Curve. How Did People Study For The Exam? I Felt That Reading The Med/surg Book Is Not Useful At All.

Me personnaly, I felt, like blah!!like you'd said. I felt incompetent and felt like throwing up. After the first part I got out of there crying:bluecry1: I took too long to answer the questions and didn't have the time to finish the mutiple choices (about 19 questions) I hated myself to start with the Subjectives part.

I didn't see the point of going back for the second part but took my courage and also told myself that I would at least had the experience and learned from it.

The afternoon went much better and I finish it.( started with the multiple choice first this time)

I can't believe that they take so long to give us the result it's just non sense. I took my test on june 7th and I'm STILL waiting!!I don't have too much hope that I passed and I feel like it's a real bad nightmare.:sniff:

I know exactly how you feel. In the first 15 minutes of starting the exam, I said to myself, "Is this for real?" I just kept going but I was having major anxiety issues. You should be getting your results within the next two weeks or so. I know many people did say that they did not finish the exam. On the other hand, there were many people who seemed confident. The girl I was sitting next to finish the exam like two hours early. I took long to read and understand the multiple choice question. I did get to finish the exam and the questions that I missed, I missed them because I really could not come up with even stupid answers for the short answers. I am just hoping the bell curve works to my advantage. The disappointment was that I did all the questions you can think of, I went to prep classes, and I felt that I could have just showed up for the exam. I hate waiting for the exam.

Thanks alot nurse Nightingale for your reply. I really appreciate it. This site is amazing I find it only two or three days ago but i wish I did earlier. Sometimes it's fun to talk to somebody that understand what your going through.

Thank you again, and I hope to hear from you again.

Let me go how it went for you and patience for waiting!!

Yes this site is amazing. I have been here before but never joined. I thought it was time to join since I also found this site to be very helpful.

I have to restrain myself from posting "WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN" because that's all I want to know is when we get our results back. I wrote my exam in June, and I love your description of how you felt about five minutes into the exam, because it's exactly how I felt.... "Is this for real?!"

After I left the exam (feeling awful), I waited outside waiting for my freinds and noticed that every other person coming out of the room looked like I felt, so hopefully that means we are all in the same boat!

One of my friends fell asleep during the afternoon part and then got up, splashed some water on her face and continued.

I also took a prep course. However I feel that even if I failed (crossing fingers no), I would know what to expect out of the 8 hours if I have to re-take it, so I feel I would be braver and use my time wisely even though I know it is brutal. I'm saying this now but if I ever did have to re-take I would probably go crazy!

xoox

Hey dainty, I feel the same way about thinking about the positive stuff If I do fail. All the things I learn from it and how much stronger how will be . But like you'd said if I do have to re-take it I probably will go crazy. Just the wait GOT to make us more patient or something(crazy) . My husband thinks this wait is part of the test.LOL

It's nice too know that I'm not alone in the situation. You took the summer off also and regreted it just like me( did we really regret it?) then you had nightmares failed and dreams passed and basically the Wait was realy long cause more time on our hand.

One question do you have kids by any chance? I do have two kids starting school in septemer.

Hey..did anyone get their results yet for those who wrote in August 2006?

Hi Everyone,

Guess what? I got my results today. I PASSED. Thanks to all those who supported me through the wait.

Nightingale:wink2:

Let me be the first to say, CONGRATS!

It must be a great feeling.

I've been following this thread, HOPING that you'd reply to say when you received your marks because I write Oct 11 (next week) and hoped that the process will not take a whole 3 months!

You received your marks quite quickly?

What day did you write and what day did you find out?

Roughly 8 weeks?

Thanks!
