U.S.A. Indiana

Just got the mail after chasing the mail man down the road and I got accepted into Bloomington for the transitional LPN-ASN starting in May!!!

OMG I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited.........yeeeeehawwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Brenda :yeah:

Columbus is the same way. They don't send theirs out until after March 1st.

Have you called and ask them when they send them out? I don't know why some campuses are late and some early. One poster on another thread stated she got her letter on Feb 14th!

Food is GOOD! I have some freeze dried snacks I got at a health food store called Just Veggies. They are delicious! But of course, my stash of chocolate is my desk drawer and my husband and son know their lives will be cut short if they touch it.......LOL!

I KNOW you will get in!!!! It is a hard wait! We need to suggest to them to get those letters out the day AFTER the deadline.....LOL!

WOW! Congrats on getting the high score on the TEAS! Way to go!

Brenda :yeah:

I just took the TEAS Saturday, and got a pretty good score, so I'll be turning in my app soon too! I agree, it's going to be an awful wait until the end of May. I'm applying to the South Bend ASN program.

:yeah:

Good luck to you Kate! I'll be thinking about you in the months to come. Let me know what happens!

Hi Jill! I scored 93.5 on the TEAS, which I'm very happy with. So far, I have two As and one B. That gives me 176.5 points the way the South Bend campus figures scores (30+30+20+93.5+3). I heard (unofficially of course!) that last year the cutoff was around 180 for the RN program. So if I get an A in my remaining Anatomy course I will end up with 206.5, or 196.5 with a B.

Do the other campuses score the same way?

-Kate

:wink2:

The campus I go to scores the same way. I have 212 right now and am re-taking the TEAS on Friday (89.4 my first try) to hopefully get a few more points. Congrats on the 93.5, actually I believe they round up so you got 94, thats an awesome score!

Thank you all for the support through this. Only you gals going through it too can know just how it feels! At least I finally feel like I can start planning for nursing school this Fall with this TEAS score.

Pnkro, which campus are you applying to? South Bend is supposed to be one of the easier programs to get into because they have a lot of slots, but now that I'm looking though my info, I can't find a number of how many. I think I may email the ASN director and find out.

-Kate

Kate,

I live in NW Indiana so the campuses by me are Valpo and Gary. I have already put in my app for Gary even though I'm retaking the TEAS. They just told me to bring my new scores up to the office. I was going to apply to Valpo as well until I found out their NCLEX pass rate is only 50%. Gary doesn't seem to be too competitive, and their pass rate is 76%. Still not a great rate but they said the LPN's rate is 95% so something is going wrong the second year. The advisor told me they accepted someone last semester with a 76 TEAS and A's &B's on prereqs. At the nursing info session they said they only get about 60-80 apps for 20-30 spots. So I think I have a good chance of getting in.

Congrats on the good scores/grades! It sounds like you'll be at the top of your pool for admissions. That must put you somewhat more at ease during your three month wait!

I wonder why the NCLEX rate is so low? I have no idea what the pass rate is in South Bend. How did you find out that info?

-Kate

You can find pass rates on the Indiana State Board of Nursing site. Just choose program type and click on pass rates.

After looking at this info, I am confused.

Both nursing sessions I attended in Bloomington and Columbus stated they had 100% pass rates for their students when they took the NCLEX and also graduation rates from the school.

I wonder what's up with these figures???

Congratulations on being accepted! I'm sure you'll do great! :nurse:

Does anyone have any idea what the averages are points wise for entrance into the ASN program in Richmond? I've got As in 3 of my 4 pre-reqs, but I'm not so sure I'll end up with higher than a B in ANP 2. I have a 94 on the TEAS, but I'm wondering if I should try again just in case I don't pull an A out of anatomy. Even another point or two could help.

Those are good grades esp your TEAS!!!!!

The Indiana S.B.O.N needs to post the figures from 2007. The current ones are from 2006. That may be why you were told a different figure. When I went to my info session 2 months ago they told me the same number that's listed on the site and I just assume they didn't have all the info from 2007 to post it yet. Who knows???
