School Nurse Certification for IN?

U.S.A. Indiana

Hi,

Does anyone know if Indiana has a certification program for school nurses? I saw on another thread that Illinois has something called a type 73 certificate.

My sister is a high school teacher & said that pay scale for a school nurse in IN is below the teacher's scale. According to the other post, in IL this type 73 certification puts you on the same level.

There will possibly be an opening nearby when I finish with school, but I have looked at the BON & ISNA sites & couldn't find any information about this. (It appears that ISNA requires membership before sharing info...)

Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Heather

I worked as a substitute school nurse for a while, but never heard anything about certification.

The pay is LOW, but the hours can be great if you have kids!

Thanks for your reply.

I have been told the pay is very low (Why?), but while my kids are little, the trade off in hours might be worth it. Maybe...

Thanks again,

Heather
