RN License Endorsement

Hi.. have you found out how to endorse your license from Illinois to Indy? I am license in Illinois but residing in Indianapolis..

Depends what state you are applying from, but Indiana is quick! The process from Illinois to Indiana took 3 weeks, but I got my temp to work in Indiana a week after I applied! All the instructions are on the Indiana website or you can call the department is you need assistance. The application process was pretty easy

I am foreign graduate and I am currently endorsing my RN license from Illinois to Indiana but I am asked for transcript of records. Board of nursing in Illinois does not transfer credentials to other states. What did you do with yours?

Go to Indiana board of nursing website and apply endorsements https://www.in.gov/pla/2506.htm)The process and steps are easy, just follow as instructed in the application, then pay. After you pay, you have to submit your transcript of records. If you are foreign graduate, you have to submit your credentials from CGFNS. Next is, you obtain your fingerprints for background check. Make sure you bring your receipt for your endorsement application and show it to wherever you get your fingerprints.

Thanks for your reply! I have a CES report from CGFNS. Do they accept applicant copies?

Yes! And one thing also, you have to apply at nursys for license endorsement. Same deal, go to nursys.com and apply for endorsement and pay. Nursys will submit your credentials as well.

That’s good news! I’m from the PH. And I’ll be working in Indiana.

one more thing, what is the difference between proof of active licensure and verification of license? Will Nursys do both?
