Ivy Tech: Accepted for Fall 2011

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

This thread is for all of us who were lucky enough to get into the Ivy Tech ASN/PN program for the Fall 2011. Many of the threads are concentrated on the TEAS test, scores, grades, and acceptance letters. As a prospective student, these are great. Getting in almost becomes an obsession! This is meant for those who are already past that stage and know that they are going to school in the fall. There is sooo much to do before school starts (immunizations, CPR, orientation, financial aid, etc..). What campus will you be attending? Maybe we can make some connections with each other before school starts. What have you already done/still have to do? Any questions about the process? What are your concerns? Are you excited, nervous, etc..? What have you heard as far as the first semester of nursing school? :nurse:

@ szewc2nurse - congrats on getting in to lafayette! i completely understand wanting to bring your husband along. the next few years will effect both of you. but, i don't know what the rules are as far as that goes. i would call your campus and see if it's even allowed. deb dye over in lafayette is pretty understanding and she tries to make things as easy as possible for students, so she may be ok with him coming. good luck!

I bet the room where orientation will be, will only be big enough for those expected to be there. Even if your husband could squeeze in, having him come to orientation with you might seem inappropriate to some, almost as if you brought your mom. See what I mean?

I am looking forward to meeting all of you at orientation on Tuesday (well the Indy class anyway) At first I was not accepted into the program. Based on the lowest score I had seen on the threads, I was off by about a point and a half. I got a call yesterday that a few spots opened up and I got one of them! I am shocked and thrilled as you can imagine. I freaked out lol...can't wait to start this journey with you all..looking forward to making some great, lifelong friendships and becoming Casey, RN!!!!!!

PS I was told today that for Indy we do NOT need to bring $100 to orientation, even tho the letter said we do. I was informed they are changing the way they do lab fees and we can now use financial aid ;) per Angie Koller at Indy.

@ the lab fees

THANK GOD!!!! lol

I am really excited about getting started at Indy as well. I have waited so long for this opportunity. I applied last time around and I didn't get accepted and I was bummed. Congratulations on everyone who gets a call at the last minute! Btw, are there any guys going to Indy on here? I am one and I am just curious if I will be the only one. See you at orientation next week!

I am going to Indy too!! :nurse: Looking forward to meeting you!! I am so ready to get started!!!

I received my acceptance for the LPN program for both Richmond and Anderson...now I am just trying to decide which would be better...does anyone have any advice as to why one might be a better option tha the other? I live in Rushville so they are both about the same difference.

Congrats:yeah: What was your score??

Thank you! I got A's an all of my prereqs and scored 83.3 on the TEAS...however, now I am starting to worry about the Math prereqs...I thought I had it all figured out because I had met with the head of nursing and she had 136 down on my plan so I figured I had what I needed for LPN...after reading my acceptance saying MATH111, 043 or 035 I checked my transcript and I have 118. I am hoping this is acceptable for the LPN program.

Is there anyone on here attending the Richmond PN program??? Orientation is friday!!! I am very excited!:D

Congrats all!!

I was accepted into the ASN program in Terre Haute! From what I've heard, orientation isn't until Aug. 15 with classes starting the next Monday! We are supposed to get our information packets this week.

Is there anyone else on here going to T.H.?
