How long for the letter at Ivy Tech??

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hey everyone. I just applied to the ASN program in Muncie. The deadline is April 1st. Does anyone know how long it takes before the letters are sent out??

I think I'm more stressed now than I was before taking my TEAS! The first time I took it I scored a 78% and the second time I scored an 86%. I have A's in all four pre-reqs so I'm hoping this will be enough, but I'm scared to death!! All of these threads are making me nervous. :stone

I went to the nursing session at the Richmond Ivy Tech and turned an application in then to both nursing programs. Is that all I had to do? I have taken the Teas and am finishing up my prereq's. The deadline is Tuesday so I just want to make sure I have covered everything.

You must have ANP 101 and 102, ENG 111 and PSY 101 and the TEAS completed before your application will be considered. If you want the points for those classes to count towards your score for admission, you have to have them completed a full semester before you apply. For instance.....if you complete ANP102 this Spring, the points wont count on your application. However, if you completed it last fall, the points will count towards your Fall 08 application. Make sense? And you really want all the points you can muster because it is very competitive.

(This is for Indy, but I'm pretty certain the requirements are the same state wide for Ivy Tech)

I was under the impression that the classes do count if they are being taken in the spring. I am taking the second antomy and psychology right now. Maybe it is different in Richmond but at the nursing session they said it counted. When they say it doesn't count if it is the semester before I figured they meant the summer semester. I hope they did not tell us all the wrong thing. I was told it would be conditional acceptance based on whatever grade I was receiving at the time of selection.

JaimeS,

I was given the same info for Logansport.

As I understand it, that is kinda right and kinda wrong. The Spring grades will count, but it won't be a conditional acceptance. Claudia Mitchell told me that they won't actually send out letters until after Spring grades are in. I was under the same impression as yours until I spoke with her. So we have to wait even longer!

That stinks that we have to wait even longer. I have not talked to her so it is good to have that information. My aunt was told last week that Claudia was taking the whole month of May off by someone at the school. I don't see how she could do that or we will be waiting forever for our letters.

Maybe she's going to work from home so she doesn't have to deal with all the calls from students saying, "Where's my letter?!" :chuckle

just thought i'd add to this....

classes are over on May 10th, grades have to be in within 5 days (i believe) so if you are in one of the 4 req'd classes right now, they DO count (I am 110% positive on that fact) and all letters will be sent the last day of may. that is what i was told from the lady at the indy/lawrence campus and she is the one that mails them out :p:heartbeat:p:heartbeat:p

heres to hopin' i get mine on JUNE 1st hee hee:bugeyes:

until then, GOOD LUCK TO ALL...now let's go have a drink!!! :nurse:

I wonder if it varies from school to school. Because I know you have to have your application in by April 1st which includes your transcripts that show you have all 4 of your pre-reqs. I wonder..

I think I got it confused a bit because the information I got was a little unclear. It says the semester immediately preceding application won't count. So Fall classes wont count for Spring and Summer classes won't count for Fall. I think that's it.

But yes...Spring classes do count for Fall.
