Project: Barriers to Nursing Education for Minorities
- 0Jul 17, '12 by MamaKoredeGood day,
My partner and I are recruiting participants for a research study being conducted at DePaul University. We are trying to learn more about the barriers that minorities face while pursing their nursing education. If you are a racial/ethnic minority (African American, Latino, or Asian), and an associate or bachelor prepared registered nurse who graduated from an accredited nursing program and currently works in the Chicagoland area, we invite you to participate in this study.
This study will take about fifteen to twenty minutes of your time. If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to participate in a face-to-face or phone interview; the interviews will be tape-recorded for quality assurance. The interview will include questions about the obstacles you faced as a minority going into the nursing profession and the type of support you may have needed in order to achieve your goals. There is no benefit to you for you to participate in this survey, however you will be helping us learn more about the barriers that minority students face while pursuing their nursing education.
If you have questions about this study, please contact Feyi Sangoleye at firstname.lastname@example.org and Brenda Vega at email@example.com. This research is being supervised by Dr. Matthew Sorenson and he can be reached at (773) 325-1887 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you and we look forward to learning about your experiences as a minority nurse.
