Chicago Area Hospitals

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey all! Considering a move to the chicago area next year. I'd kind of like to get a feel for the various hospitals in the area. Anybody have anything to say about them? I am mostly interested in larger hospitals with very high acuity SICU's/ CVICUs. Which facility would you consider to be the main cardiac place in chicago? Any general numbers on salaries in chicago? What about benefits? Anything would be great!

Thanks

My standard recommendations are Rush, Northwestern, and Children's Memorial, if peds interests you.

In the suburbs, Northwest Community (Arlington Heights), Rush-Copley (Aurora) and Edward's (Naperville) are worth a look-see.

I highly suggest you find a job before commiting to a house or apartment. Some parts of the city are very hard to get to from other areas, and you don't want a 2-hour commute!
