So by the end of the fall of 2014 I will be done with the pre reqs needed to apply to Truman's Nursing program for fall of 2015. But now the CCC nursing programs are all gonna merge and become one big nursing program at Malcolm x starting the fall of 2016. I can understand it's going to be in the Illinois Medical district which would make for more opportunities for networking but the last I remembered Malcolm x is on probation and it feels like it'll be a lot of confusion and chaos during the merge. I chose Truman because out of all the CCC nursing programs theirs is the best (plus it's close to my job where most of the nurses I work with graduated from Truman)! Now I'm trying to decide if I should take the prereqs I need and then switch to Chamberlain: it's closer to my job, I can go ahead and have my bsn when I pass boards avoiding having to go back to get my bsn if I were to stay at Truman (and have to go to Malcolm x). ALL ADVICE IS WELCOME AND GREATLY APPRECIATED! :)

Hi, I too am from IL. I'm curious as to how the city colleges of chicago can even able to offer a larger program, when none of the colleges NCLEX rates are good. I JUST checked the percentages. MX percentages were 67, 42, 53, 64 & 60 for the past 5 years. Daley is not far behind, and Trumans percentages are on the decline as well. Nowhere near the other two.

I don't know your situation or background, but there are other schools in IL that are better than Chamberlain. That schools BSN program is $85,000. Even without the prerequisites, it will still probably cost you between $50-60K.

I think the reason for consolidation is so they can concentrate on fixing one big program. Instead of fixing 5 smaller ones
