I know there are many post regarding what supplies a typical home health nurses needs, but i just wanted a list of ideas in one location that I can easily find.

I'm on a time crunch and just need a few ideas of what to buy before I head to the store. I am currently doing shift work (8-12 hours) and I haven't come across any homes that don't already have needed supplies, but there was a time where a few things ran out as my shift was over (lucky me). I would just like to be prepared just in case I'm not so lucky next time.

All ideas and suggestions are welcome. I don't have a good bag to carry my stuff so any suggestions of those would also be nice.

I find everything on amazon - the best prices too and good selection of bags!

Thank you for replying :)

Can you be a bit more specific? what kind of supplies do you recommend getting ?

Here are some of the things that I bring to each house:

Gloves (I was at a house once where they ran out and thankfully I had some with me)

Extra paperwork (agency specific)

2-3 Pens minimum

Water bottle (for me)

Extra blank paper (for reports, extra info, etc)

Charging cable for my phone

Snacks that don't need a fridge

Stethoscope

Pulse Oximeter

Thermometer

Mace (depends on the area)

Clorox wipes

Extra hair ties

Hand sanitizer

I know there's more that I bring, but it depends on the house. I have one family that has a shower and they want me to wear flip flops in it. I bring extra socks to that house because I hate putting on dirty socks. Also, I bring my own equipment (pulse ox & thermometer especially) but most houses have those.
