interview question not sure how to answer (hh)

I've been trying to go into home health and I had an interview question today I wasn't sure how to answer. Pertaining to peds, if you had an unruly peds patient (in home) how would you handle it? Now I'm assuming if this behavior was dangerous to their health we could restrain them like in the hospital.. but I wasn't sure. What do you think? What are the restraint policies generally in home health?

I think that if it were me, I would say that I would contact the nursing supervisor and ask what is the protocol for these situations. But, then again, I really suck at interviews. That is my true weakness, when they ask what my weaknesses are, I almost want to say that. I have one tomorrow, and I am a nervous wreck already. So, what was your reply? I really hate when they ask questions, and I don't know how to answer. I want to say that I am a good worker, but a lousy interviewer. When they ask if you have any questions, I would like to ask them, would you hire somebody that does not interview well, but has other skills. lol

I don't do peds, but restraining is probably not what they wanted to hear. Perhaps using distraction techniques, such as "Oh I have a great game we could play, but you need to settle down, .....so on and so forth, blah, blah, blah".

But, who knows, I'm not that great with kids.....LOL

I said i didn't know, and i would make sure i found out before i started.lol of course everything depends on the situation. good luck in your interview. be confident and think about what your going to say, its ok to pause for a sec after they ask a question. let us know how it went:o
