Hesi a2 retake

Nursing Students HESI

I passed my hesi a2 entrance exam but math was my lowest section. Overall I achieved a 84.96% and although I am very happy I passed, I am a little nervous that this score will not be good enough to get into my program. Does anyone know if you can retake the hesi and if for some reson you did worse you could still keep the score of the first test? They really didnt specify that information to us so I was just curious if anyone knew in case I decide to retake it.

Hello, I'm going to take the hesi test next month so I was just wondering what all materials did u study to pass the test. Thanks for any advice for input

I used the Elsevier admission assessment exam review edition 3 and I also did practice tests online and used my anatomy and physiology notes from my classes. Good luck!

Most programs allow you to retake the test. Just call up the testing center. They will have the "rules." When I took the HESI A2 for my program, we were told we had two tries. Other schools allow you to take it even more.

Where do you find the practice tests online?

I just went to google and typed in hesi a2 practice tests.

If you call your testing center, they should tell you the conditions. My school doesnt allow retakes in one application period. We had to make a composite of atleast a 70. I made an overall of an 82. My bit of comfort will be, i was happy about my score until others spoke of the 90s and up and A's in the extra point classes (our program is a point system). I had B's for my two classes and an 82...i was paranoid until i got my acveptance letter. So i just wanted to say, dont feel discouraged with an 84 oppose to everyone elses "higher grades" even sifting through this website, you can still get in :)

I just took my test Friday for the first time and I am honest when I tell you I am horrible at Math. I have never had a score this high in Math in my life. Study the examples and the sample problems in the Elsevier Edition book 3. Work them over and over. When you take your test......be sure you slow down using that calculator. I made a couple of mistakes that I caught but had I NOT worked my problem twice I would not have caught them and I would have chosen the wrong answer. BE CAREFUL using the online calculator, your mouse does not always do watch you want it to and sometimes you know how to work the problem and should have gotten it right but made a mistake entering it on the calculator. Double check your answers by plugging in what worked out back into the problem. Make sure your ratios really equal, that what you solved for x makes sense. Go with your gut on how to work the problem too. I skipped meaning finally picked an answer bc I couldn't remember acre conversions. Know your conversions. Quiz yourself on them daily. Make a blank sheet of paper and write them all down and leave the answer off. So that when you practice it you don't see it. I'm a real estate agent and I locked up and could not remember the acre conversions....lol

The other thing I recommend is purchasing the McGraw Hill online edition to study. The practice tests and questions help you prepare for what you will see in terms of format on the HESI. It helped me out tremendously. I also had the Mometrix Flashcards they helped too but they did have information you don't use or need. Some of the geometry stuff you don't find on any of the practice tests so don't stress about that part. If it's not in the Elsevier you probably won't see it on your test in terms of Grammar and Math.

I made a 94 over all with a 98 in Math! I just about fainted when I saw that score. Good luck and just know you can do this! Just study and practice those problems over and over.
