Any runners???

Nurses Stress 101

Published

I was wondering if there were any runners among us...... I used to run a LONG time ago........ it all came to a crashing halt when I was playing coed softball and was slammed by a runner coming home and I was carried off on a stretcher with a torn ACL.... (they were out though! )

Anyway, I want to get back to it, and I am not finding my motivation very well. Any ideas???

:uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21: did you say "run"? :uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21:

*backs slowly out of thread* :uhoh21:

:yeah: i laughed for a long time with that one.

/to original poster: i applaud your motivation. just considering running is not something that would go through my mind as a good way to exercise. but that's just me. i want to be encouraging because, you do have a good idea... every now and then, i'll torture myself with an exercise video. i have yet to finish the video i've been trying for the last year.

i think exercise is always a good idea for every one. especially nurses. there's nothing better than walking the dog for half an hour on a quick pace to clear your mind after a gruelling and frustrating shift. for example, one of the nursing home seniors, was lying. i knew she was lying and i was extremely frustrated. i went home that way. i wanted to yell back at her but, we aren't allowed to do that. plus, she was sitting on the toilet. but, i took the dog out for a half hour speed walk. when i got home, i could settle down.
