Queens or Starub

U.S.A. Hawaii

I need advice from those who know. I recently got offered a job at queens and at straub. I am stuck. I don't know which one to accept. can anyone working at these hospitals let me know their thoughts etc. I need to make a decision. they are both for the same position, just different hospitals.

Sup Localboi808,

I called and still no response. So I stopped by QMC this past week. Guess what? That manager has stepped down, which is the reason why I didn't get any phone calls from her. She could have at least told me that. Oh well. I also applied to another department for a tech position at QMC. Turned down. So disappointing, considering that I have been a student volunteer for this hospital for quite a while, only to be turned down, and other less-qualified applicants with less credentials being hired. I even talked to the manager of one of the departments, and she told me to apply for that position. I check my online QMC job account, and find out that I have also been turned down by that department. I feel that QMC plays a lot of favoritism with certain applicants, and to a point, discriminates against certain applicants as well.

hey! what position did you apply for that the manager just left?

^^ The float pool department. I guess it's for RN's who are sent to various departments within QMC to fill in positions of nurses who call out sick, etc.

Now for the other department where I did get in touch with the manager, due to connection with one of my previous instructors, that also did not result in any job offer. I will keep trying to apply to downtown QMC for a few more times. There are a lot of tech job openings for tower 5 (neuro unit). A classmate of mine told me it's a stressful environment to work in. However, I just want to get my foot in the door, so any job is good. I am going to contact one more person in one of the departments at QMC. If that doesn't work out, then I give up on QMC. seriously.

HPH and QMC both have ICU training programs. I've gone through the HPH program and it was a really fantastic opportunity.

I will also check out Hawaii Pacific Health's program. I was a former part-time clinical assist at Kap last year. I had to stop working as my nursing school schedule was super duper hectic.

So did you first start off working as a clinical assistant for one of the HPH hospitals, and then applied for the new graduate program?
