Hi everyone! I just thought I'd start the new State forums off with an introduction thread. Please feel free to reply to this thread if you wish. Otherwise, feel free to start a new topic if you wish to discuss other topics that are local or state related. Enjoy!

Aloha!

Welcome to the profession New grads. If you work in Hawaii you probable know somting about the raid on our union by the California Nurses Association. Please contact your CBO board memeber and ask why they are particitpating in this. 521-8361 phone number for CBO/HNA

As one nurse put it .

" By now I am sure you have been exposed to the propaganda that some folks want you to believe is in your best interest. Bringing in the California Nurses Association to "assist" CBO in collective bargaining is not in my opinion in your best interest. Neither is disaffiliation from ANA, the American Nurses Association. These are two major issues on the level or greater of taking a strike vote. It should have been taken back to the members to vote on. I hope I am not the only staff nurse that feels this way.

Your very way of practising as a Registered Nurse or other worker covered by CBO is at stake. Come and say how you really feel at two important meetings:Saturday, June 12, 2004
