VA, NLNAC approved school for LPN job.

Hello,

I have a question for any current LPN's working for the VA. I have a intersted to one day work for the VA and I view the job listings often just to see what's out there and the requirements neccessary.

Sometime I see that the job requirment say's: Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursingapproved by the appropriate State agency, and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Education must have been accredited through The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)The NLNAC accredits all levels of nursing programs or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

But it doesn't mention it in all of the job listings for LPN. Does anyone know if this is a standard requirement for LPN's to work for the VA?

I ask because I'm looking into a school that is state approved(FL) but not accredited by the NLNAC,which there is a difference(many don't know this).

If the VA is where I would like to one day serve at I don't want to be held back because of this.

Anyone? Any or all employed by VA, was one of the requirements graduate of an accredited school?

It's best if you ask a VA Nurse Recruiter. I don't really know about accreditations, but I know the VA will employ nurses with licenses in other states, and Puerto Rico. They also employ physicians who are NOT board-certified.
