Hello all!

Well, this past weekend I just so happened to come across this program, and I am now gung ho! I know I am wayyyy ahead of myself, but I have this big strike against me already...my age...so I want to get as much info as I can!

My main question is...

Is there anyone here who has had to apply for an age waiver and was accepted? I spoke to one recruiter who didn't want to help me due to my age, so heck, I called another! I caught him while driving, but we spoke for a few and he seemed perfectly fine with helping me with the waiver. He is traveling over the next few days but he asked me to email him, and he is supposed to send me a "blueprint" (??). I think he said this was something to see if I qualify?

Anyhow, I suppose I could ask a lot of questions (those which I have already seen answers on), so I guess I really just want to know about the waiver and acceptance :)

Thanks to you all!

Hey there

Do you have any type of degree already? If you have a bachelors in another field there are options for accelerated BSN programs (this is the path i took). My particular program was only 16 months long but you were required to have a Bachelor's in another field and a few prereqs. If this was the case you could potentially make it in under the 42 age limit when you graduate. I've heard its pretty competitive to get in with no experience nowadays tho. I have my BSN, 8 years of Critical Exp, and my CCRN. I've recently been submitted and just awaiting approval from the board.

I hear so many different things - they aren't giving any more waivers and then you hear of a waiver given. If you found someone who says they will work with you, go for it, with the understanding that it may not work out, even if they suggest that it will. I've had recruiters just stop responding to me. They have tons of people to pick from right now, so they don't really need to go out of their way to find candidates. But you will never know until you try! Good luck!
