Military hospitals and interstate licensing

  1. For MTFs, does a civilian RN need a license for the state that the MTF is in or is any state license acceptable? What about overseas MTFs..what type of license does a US RN civilian need?

    Thanks!

MTFs are federal facilities, so any state license or PR license will work. I believe the same thing applies for civilians working at MTFs overseas also.

You do not need a license for the same state you are practicing in. You do have to be familiar with the board of nursing rules and regulations for the state you are practicing in though, and not practice outside of the scope of practice limited for that state.

Wow, how many times can I use the word "practice" in one post...
