Specializes in CVICU, Oncology ICU.

Hi everyone! I am a 10 yr RN w/ 6 yrs ICU exp. I am planning on putting in my accession packet to the Army Nurse Corp on 5 Feb. I am trying to get into the mid-March OBLC class, so I can go straight to USAGPAN at Ft Sam. I have completed my Northeastern Univ. packet ahead of time with decent GRE/GPA (1070/ 3.6).

I was hoping to hear from the people who know best if this is still a possibility. I know I'm pushing it, but it can't hurt to try. So if anyone has any contacts I can email/call for guidance, I'd appreciate it. I've been in email contact w/ LTC Galloway @USGPAN, but haven't heard from him lately. I'd like to keep my name in circulation w/o being bothersome.

And a personal thanks to all our soldiers. I salute your service!

Hooah!

Have you been accepted to the army's nurse anesthesia program/USAGPAN? As far as I know the Army has already picked up all their candidates for this year, so if you haven't heard anything at this point it is unlikely that you are going to school this year.

I would be very careful if your recruiter is telling you are going to school and you haven't got official notice yet! Once you are in the Army you will have to wait the usually time period about 2yrs to apply for school. It would be much better/faster to wait and reapply this summer if you haven't been accepted.

I am PMing you an email of someone that can give a lot more info.
