Hi, Danielle, would you mind helping alot of people out here and posting your experience and qualifications, people use it to weigh their own against people that were selected. Thanks and congratulations.

I am a new grad. I graduated in May, and have been working in Nursing Informatics since July. I live in Northern Virginia and it is almost impossible to get a job as a new grad. I am actually pretty shocked that I was selected, because of my lack of experience. However, I did graduate top in my class with 3.93 GPA, and I have some leadership experince. My recommendations were also pretty good.

I hope this helps ease some anxiety!

Well I just heard from my recruiter and found out I am on the OML list, so I get to wait longer to find out if I'm pulled from the alternate list. Does anyone know what the chances are of being pulled?

I am not sure, but I would think since they took so few, and have an entire fiscal year to select nurses, to replace vacant spots or fill needed spots, than the chances should be pretty good that they select some, I think it all just depends on what number on the OML you are.

From what i have heard from recruiter, and everything else it was 10 med/surge with less than 2 yrs/10 med/surg with more than 2 years exp. and 10 critical care/10 other specialties

So all together 40, but if you are not critical care or OR or ER than you fall into one of the 10/10 med surg

that means there are 5 ahead of you, but if during the year before the next board if they need nurses, yo uwould be very close to the front of the list. From what I understand they can offer you reserve spots or other things like OR or ER and different stuff.

Congrats to all who were selected!! My wife was selected. They selected 20 total 10 new grad and 10 experienced!!!! If you came out on the OML list or were not selected the competition was very tough and you should not hang your head but keep trying!!! If any of you need help with writing letters or anything else please let me know and I am more than willing to help anyone. Again, thank you for all the support as this blog has truly kept some people sane, to include myself and my wife. Also maybe think about the OCS route then do a branch transfer after a year. Just a thought to get your foot in the door. Again contact me anytime.
