Any military operating room nurses here?

I have lots of O.R. experience, and a BSN, and I am considering joining the military. I am wondering if military O.R. nursing is any different than civilian O.R. nursing. For example, do military circulators still have to charge for supplies?

As far as cirulating goes it is the same, just that you have other duties which you would not have as a civilian. In the military we do not have to worry about keeping track of the supplies we use in a case for charges. I have also worked at civilian hosptials were they have not kept track of items for charges. It is all based on how the hospital wants to keep track of supplies bill since most hospitals bill by a DRG anyway.

What duties do you have as a military nurse?
